This conference explores the practitioner’s perspective of building with earth in the UK. Speakers include those working, designing, producing and practicing in the UK, sharing their experience with the market and the providers, addressing motivations and frustrations from the practitioner’s perspective.
Conference speakers include:
Dirk Bouwens (EARTHA) You will not believe it: Six Storey Earth Windmills and Maltings.
Tom Morton (ARC architects) title to be confirmed
Amrit Row (Space Magic Garden Design) Exterior unprotected rammed earth: the nervous landscapers perspective. A project in Bath.
Adam Weismann (Cob in Cornwall) The relevance of building with unfired clay in the modern construction industry.
Paul Mallion (Conker Conservation) Barriers to Specification and Adoption
Nigel Copsey (The Earth Stone and Lime Company) The historic and future use of earth mortars in Malton and beyond
Daniel Doran (BREEAM Materials Team, BRE) BRE Green Guide Ratings for Rammed Earth – a case study
